The MAN-B&W stuffing box for the S35MC-C, S35MC, and L35MC engines is an important part at the bottom of the cylinder frame. It seals the route for the piston rod between the scavenge air gap and the crankcase. It has specific scraper and sealing rings that keep scavenging air from getting into the crankcase while scraping off dirt and oil from the piston rod and sending it back to the crankcase through dedicated drains. This design uses less oil, needs less maintenance, and works well in tough marine settings.

Main Characteristics:

1) The top scraper ring on this advanced multi-ring system keeps scavenging sludge from getting in, and the bottom scrapers quickly remove crankcase oil from the piston rod.

2) Sealing rings in the middle of the block keep air and possible exhaust gases from getting into the crankcase, which makes the engine safer and more efficient.

3) Integrated drain routes gather scraped oil, debris, and carbon deposits and send them back to the crankcase to save them from getting dirty.

4) The strong two-part bolted housing design makes it easy to check and maintain without taking the whole thing apart.

5) Optimized for tropical conditions (up to 45°C air and 32°C ocean) and works with IMO Tier II compliant engines with very little oil carry-over.
