The Pepperl+Fuchs KFD2-STC4-Ex1 is a high-performance 1-channel isolated barrier made to power smart transmitters in dangerous places. It makes sure that signals can safely travel from dangerous areas to control rooms and works with protocols like HART, BRAIN, and Foxboro.
This smart transmitter power supply sends reliable 24 V DC power to 2-wire and 3-wire transmitters in Zone 0, 1, 2, or Div. 1, 2 hazardous areas through Power Rail. It changes field signals into separate 4–20 mA outputs for safe-side systems and has a bi-directional digital overlay for maintenance work. It meets ATEX, IECEx, and cULus standards for industrial process automation and is certified up to SIL 2 by IEC/EN 61508.

Features of KFD2-STC4-Ex1 Power Supply:
1) Provides isolated power and signal conversion for 2/3-wire SMART transmitters in dangerous areas, which makes them safe by design.
2) Integrated test points and a 250 Ω HART resistor make it easier to access communicators and diagnose loops without taking them apart.
3) High accuracy with a deviation of ≤10 µA and a rise time of 20 µs for exact process control in tough situations.
4) Allows for digital communication in both directions (HART, BRAIN, Foxboro) for setting up and monitoring from afar.
5) A small DIN rail mount that works with Power Rail makes it possible to add more components to control cabinets.

How to Use:
-> Mount on a 35 mm DIN rail and connect Power Rail or terminals 14+/15- to a 20-35 V DC supply to power multiple devices at once.
-> Connect field-side transmitters to terminals 1+/2-/3 (or 5-/6+ for 3-wire) and make sure the voltage drop is less than 2.4 V at 20 mA.
-> If necessary, check the external loop supply of 11–30 V DC and connect the safe-side load (0–800 Ω) to terminals 7–8–9.
-> Use built-in test sockets to connect a HART communicator while calibrating or fixing something without cutting off signals.
-> Put a label on the front panel and a green PWR LED on the monitor to show the status of the power supply. In large setups, connect the KFD2-EB2 power feed to check for errors.

The KFD2-STC4-Ex1 carries BAS 99 ATEX 7060 X certification, with parameters like Uo=25.4 V, Io=86.8 mA, Po=551 mW for [Ex ia] inputs. It prevents ignition risks in gas (IIC) and dust (IIIC) atmospheres, complying with EN 60079 standards.
