It has a special stainless-steel actuator key (guard key) and a solenoid-locking mechanism that stops anyone from opening machine guards without permission or in a hazardous way.

The actuator key turns on the switch body when the guard is closed. The internal solenoid locks the mechanism, keeping the guard shut until the machine is safe.
