The Schmersal AZM161SK‑24RK‑110‑M16 is a safety interlock limit switch that keeps people from getting into dangerous areas on machines, presses, robots, and automation cells. It has a special stainless-steel actuator key (guard key) and a solenoid-locking mechanism that stops anyone from opening machine guards without permission or in a hazardous way.
The actuator key turns on the switch body when the guard is closed. The internal solenoid locks the mechanism, keeping the guard shut until the machine is safe. The guard may be safely unlocked and released once the control system releases the solenoid (after halting the machine and taking away its power). This helps keep operators safe and stops the machine from restarting by accident.
