Engineer’s Guide: Integration Tips

Prior to deploying the AX71 in a PROFIBUS network, verify that the GSD file is properly integrated into your TIA Portal or Step 7 environment. The bus termination should be closely monitored due to the 26-bit resolution. The terminal unit must be sealed in accordance with ATEX standards, as it is an Ex-rated device.

In order to preserve the integrity of the hazardous area classification, it is imperative that your cable glands adhere to the same Ex d or Ex e protection requirements as the encoder. To prevent signal noise on the DP line, it is recommended to use high-quality shielded twisted-pair cable for extended cable runs.
