The Wartsila W46 cylinder liner is a high-performance part made for the tough Wartsila 46 series medium-speed diesel engines. It makes sure that the engines last a long time and work well in tough maritime and power plant settings.

This centrifugally cast cylinder liner has a high collar design that keeps the bore round for the best piston ring performance and less wear. It does this by reducing deformations from thermal, mechanical, and cylinder head clamping loads. It uses a particular grey cast iron alloy that is stronger and more resistant to wear to keep the temperature just right and stop sulfuric acid from corroding while also keeping the lubrication oil from breaking down. It has an anti-polishing ring built in that calibrates carbon deposits on the top land of the piston. This stops bore polishing and keeps lubricating oil use stable.
