Rolls-Royce (now Bergen Engines) makes the Bergen B32-40, a medium-speed, 4-stroke diesel engine that comes in inline (L6-L9) and V (V12-V16) versions. It can generate outputs up to 8769 kVA at 750 rpm. It can use heavy fuel oil (HFO up to 700 cSt/50°C) and has a low specific fuel consumption of 176–185 g/kWh, which makes it cost-effective to run. The compact design and strong mounting reduce vibrations, making it perfect for ships and offshore sites.
