Tips from a Marine Engineer

1) Take advantage of the dual-channel feature: Vibration in the engine room might wear out sensors. I always say to connect two Pt100s to the TTF300. Set the transmitter to Sensor Backup mode so that it stays on even if one sensor breaks.

2) Dielectric Grease is Your Friend: The IP67 rating is great, but always put a little layer of silicone grease on the housing threads and O-rings when you first set it up to keep salt air from seizing.

3) Set the Damping: To reduce signal noise in regions with a lot of vibration (such gasoline pumps), raise the Damping constant in the HART settings to 2.0 or 5.0 seconds.
