ASEM HT2000 Touch Screen Display Class 2 | Industrial HMI Panel

The ASEM HT2000 Class 2 is a line of fanless industrial panel PCs and touch screen HMIs that use the Intel Cedar Trail Atom D2550 architecture. They come in several display sizes and front-panel designs to work in tough industrial conditions. It has an industrial TFT LCD touch screen, an embedded PC, an IP66-protected front, and versatile I/O and extension for use in automation and marine settings. ​

The HT2000 family is a line of fanless panel PCs that use an Intel Atom D2550 dual-core 1.86 GHz processor (2 cores / 4 threads) with an NM10 chipset. They are meant to be all-in-one industrial HMIs. It has a sealed aluminum or stainless front panel that holds the CPU, up to 4 GB of DDR3 SODIMM RAM, solid-state and/or hard disk storage, and a touch screen. ​

Display and touchscreen

The HT2000 comes with 4:3 (10.4″, 12.1″, 15″), 5:4 (17″, 19″), and widescreen 16:9 (15.6″, 18.5″, 21.5″) TFT LED-backlit LCDs. The resolutions range from 800×600 to 1920×1080 and the colors range from 16 million to 16 million. There are 5-wire resistive touchscreens on aluminum or True Flat aluminum/stainless panels, and projected-capacitive multitouch (up to 4 fingers) on some wide models. “Class 2” in marine/industrial listings usually means the specific configuration variant within this family rather than the display technology itself. ​

Mechanical and safety

You can have front panels in aluminum, True Flat aluminum, True Flat stainless steel, and True Flat aluminum with glass for multitouch versions. The front has an IP66 rating for protection against dust and strong water jets, so the HT2000 can be used in wash-down and tough industrial or maritime settings. ​

Interfaces and expansion

Standard interfaces are four USB 2.0 ports on the back, one USB 2.0 port on the front, two 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet ports (Intel 82574L) with Jumbo Frame and Wake-on-LAN, one RS-232 serial port, and a VGA or DVI-I video output. Optional add-on boards include more serial (RS-232/422/485, isolated) and USB ports. The S1 variants come with one PCI or one PCIe x1 slot and two MiniPCI slots for fieldbus, I/O, and NVRAM modules. ​

OS, power, and storage

There are a multitude of ways to store data, like an on-board bootable CFast SATA II slot that can be accessed from the outside, as well as a 2.5″ SSD or HDD SATA II drive. The device gets its power from a separate 24 VDC input. It can also have an optional built-in UPS that uses an external battery pack. It works with Windows 7 Professional/Ultimate, Windows XP Professional, Windows Embedded Standard 7/2009, and Windows Embedded Compact 7. ​

Certifications:

The fanless design allows for temperatures between 0 and 50 °C (with derating when utilizing some HDD alternatives) and is meant for use in industry 24 hours a day, seven days a week. HT2000 panels have CE and cULus Listed (UL 508) designations, which means they meet the standards for industrial control and automation.
