The MEX816U expander module connects to a ME line controller to add more inputs and outputs that can be controlled. It can handle up to 8 universal inputs and 4 universal outputs, and you may set these up to work with different sorts of sensors and control devices.

The module can be put up to 100 feet away from the main controller, which makes it easy to set up in big buildings. It uses a high-speed 500 Kbps Xnet bus to talk to the ME controller, which makes sure that data is sent quickly and reliably.
