Advantages:
- Superior Self-Priming Capability: Engineered to quickly remove air from the suction line, guaranteeing rapid priming even in intricate pipe layouts.
- Heavy duty construction – Built with marine-grade materials to handle the continuous duty cycles characteristic of onboard machinery, as well as corrosive environments and high vibrations.
- The compact architecture provides an optimal design for space, enabling a smooth fit into the limited places available on board ships, while still ensuring the efficiency of flows.
- High Hydraulic Efficiency: Designed with accuracy, the volute casing and impeller help lower the overall carbon footprint and energy consumption of your vessel.
- Ease of Maintenance: Engineered for accessibility, allowing rapid inspection and service periods to save operational downtime.
Tips By NDMarineTech for Optimum Life:
- Seal Integrity is Everything The most prevalent cause of “priming loss” is air leakage on the suction side. Always inspect the gaskets and the mechanical seals carefully. If you notice the pump having difficulty staying primed, check the mechanical seal first.
- Check Vibration Centrifugal pumps should run smooth. If you notice any irregular vibrations, please check the alignment between the electric motor and pump shaft as soon as possible. Misalignment is a silent killer of bearings.
- Clean strainers often. Your suction strainer is your first line of defense against debris. If it’s clogged up it’s going to generate cavitation and eat your impeller in record time.
- Never run dry the pump. Before starting up, fill the priming chamber to the required level to prevent the mechanical seal faces from overheating.
