Wartsila 9L20 Diesel Generator Set – 1980 kW Marine Power Engine

The Wartsila 9L20 diesel generator set has a 9-cylinder inline design from the well-known Wartsila 20 series. It provides strong power for marine and industrial uses. This engine meets IMO Tier II/III criteria and is very efficient, can use different types of fuel, and is very flexible.

The Wartsila 9L20 is a 4-stroke, turbocharged, intercooled diesel engine that can produce up to 1980 kW at 1200 rpm or 1665 kW at 900 rpm, depending on how it is set up. It is made for generating sets. It can run on heavy fuel oil (HFO up to 700 cSt/50°C), marine diesel fuel (MDF), and low-sulfur alternatives, and it uses about 198–201 g/kWh of fuel at full load. It has a small size, low emissions, and lengthy overhaul intervals, making it perfect for commerce ships, ferries, and offshore facilities.
