The MAN B&W L20/27 cylinder block, also known as the engine frame, is the major part of the L20/27 medium-speed marine diesel engine. It holds up the crankshaft, main bearings, cylinder liners, and other parts of the engine. It is built to last for a long time in continuous marine and power plant use, with high rigidity, precise alignment, and steady load distribution even under intense cyclic pressures.
This engine frame works with the whole MAN B&W L20/27 in-line range (5L–9L), so it’s a great choice for replacing broken or worn blocks or putting together complete engines from components that have been recovered. The L20/27 frame, when used with real heads, liners, pistons, and fuel-injection parts, can bring back the original performance and emissions of a MAN engine for a lot less money than a new engine.
