HIMSEN H25/33 Fuel Injection Pump
The fuel injection system is the beating heart of your auxiliary power generation. I can tell you the HIMSEN H25/33 Fuel Injection Pump is a well engineered piece of hardware as a marine engineer with years of experience in engine room dealing with heavy fuel oil (HFO) atomization problems. Hyundai’s basic idea of “Smart, Simple and Robust” inspired the development of this high-pressure, single cylinder trunk-piston style injection pump to endure the extreme mechanical and thermal strains of modern maritime power plants.
Whether you’re operating an in-line 6H25/33 or a big V-type setup, this pump gives the precise volumetric metering and timing that’s needed to maintain optimal SFOC (Specific Fuel Oil Consumption) and stay well under IMO Tier II/III NOx emission standards.
Key Features
- High-Pressure Atomization Efficiency: Designed for severe injection pressures, to achieve maximum fuel atomization, combustion efficiency and SFOC reduction to a highly competitive 183g/kWh.
- Dual-Sided Leakage Protection: The new barrel groove with a double back-up ring structure prevents gasoline dilution in your engine’s oil system.Enhanced Plunger AssembliesAbsorb the kinetic energy of high pressure during the spill phase of the injection cycle, improving barrel life.
- Direct Access Maintenance Design: In keeping with the HiMSEN pipe-free concept, the pump housing is cleanly mounted into the engine block with simple flanged connections that allow for quick overhauls of individual cylinders.
- IMO Tier II/III Compliance Integration: Seamlessly integrates with Miller timing systems, matching high pressure ratio turbochargers to lower peak combustion temperatures.

Where to Use?
- Marine Main Auxiliary Gen-Sets The main fuel metering system for 6,7,8 and 9-cylinder in-line H25/33 marine generating sets for container ships, VLCCs and bulk carriers.
- Diesel Power Plants, Stationary: Used in land based decentralized modular power systems with H25/33V configurations (12, 14, 16, 18 and 20 cylinders).
- Uni-Fuel Fleet Operations Suitable for single fuel boats when auxiliary engines use the same heavy fuel as the main propulsion unit.
Compatibility
This fuel pump assembly is fully interchangeable across the entire Hyundai HiMSEN H25/33 engine family, including:
- In-Line Models: 6H25/33, 7H25/33, 8H25/33, 9H25/33
- V-Type Models: 12H25/33V, 14H25/33V, 16H25/33V, 18H25/33V, 20H25/33V
Maintenance Guide by Our Marine Engineer:
- Watch Your Cat Fines (Al+Si Limits): The H25/33 injection pump relies on ultra-precise micro-clearances between the plunger and the barrel to hit high pressures. If your fuel treatment system lets Aluminum and Silicon catalyst particles creep past 15 mg/kg, they act like liquid sandpaper. You will score the plunger faces, lose residual injection pressure, and cause your exhaust temperatures to skyrocket. Ensure your fuel purifiers are optimized at a maximum water content of 0.2%.
- The MGO Sticking Phenonmenon: When switching from hot HFO to cold Marine Gas Oil (MGO) during port entry, watch your changeover temperature gradient like a hawk! If the temperature drops faster than 2°C per minute, the pump barrel will contract much faster than the plunger. The result? A seized or “stuck” fuel pump index rack, which can cause an engine overspeed trip or a failure to start when you need your sub-alternator online.3.
- Inspecting the Deflector Gaskets: During every standard index check, inspect Pos. 131 (Gasket) and Pos. 130 (Deflector). If the deflector is loose or eroding due to fuel spill velocity, it will chew right into the main cast iron pump housing casting (Pos. 101). Catching a $10 deflector issue early saves you from scrapping a multi-thousand-dollar pump housing.
