Installation and Maintenance Guide:
- Check Alignment. Transportation can impact alignment even when the pump and motor are pre-mounted. Check shaft alignment with a laser tool after bolting down the base plate. misplaced shaft is the #1 cause of bearing failure.
- Monitor Suction Conditions: These pumps are prone to cavitation. Make that your suction piping is free of debris and that you have adequate NPSH (Net Positive Suction Head) margins.
- Lubrication Schedule Bearings are good quality, however be sure to follow the lubrication type and interval indicated in the instructions. Over-greasing is just as bad as under-greasing.
- Seal Protection The mechanical seal area needs protecting when working in dusty or sandy environments. Do not run the pump dry at any time, as this will immediately ruin the faces of the mechanical seal.
- Vibration Analysis: Measure and record the vibration level at the bearing housing at periodic intervals. A quick rise is a definite indicator of impeller unbalance or internal wear.
