  1. Terminal Integrity Always re-torque your power terminals after installation . Connections can loosen over time due to the mechanical vibration inherent to shipboard generator rooms, causing arcing.
  2. Stability Tuning: Before you start, make sure the stability pots (P and I) are centered. If you see “hunting” (voltage oscillation), turn the P-potentiometer clockwise until stable. If the voltage still goes nuts, check your sensor connections first.
  3. Heat Dissipation: Make sure the cabinet where the ASR150 is installed has enough ventilation. The machine is durable but trapped heat is the silent enemy of electrical components.
  4. Frequency trip setting: Do not forget the frequency trip setting. If your ship is experiencing frequency drop caused by governor problems on the engine the ASR150 will automatically reduce the voltage of the generator to protect your windings. Try this on your annual maintenance.
  5. Cleanliness: Make sure the PUR coating is intact if you are in a humid climate. If you see any corrosion around the gate pulse terminals, use an electronics-safe contact cleaning to avoid signal drift.
