Description

Hitech Instruments G1010 Oxygen Analyser (220/240V AC, 50/60Hz, 30VA Max)

The Hitech Instruments G1010 Oxygen Analyzer is a monitoring instrument engineered for critical process gas analysis and marine inerting safety. Designed to operate on a standard 220/240V AC (50/60Hz, 30VA max) power grid, this instrument delivers high-precision, continuous oxygen measurement across parts-per-million (ppm) trace levels up to 100% pure O2 concentrations depending on the connected galvanic cell.

The G1010 is widely integrated into Inert Gas Systems (IGS), Nitrogen Generation Plants (PSA & Membrane systems), cargo tank vapor recovery headers, and enclosed workspace atmospheric safety systems. By utilizing an advanced auto-ranging multi-digit LCD, isolated user-programmable analog outputs (4–20mA / 0–5V), and dual volt-free alarm contacts, the G1010 prevents explosion risks and protects product integrity in harsh operating conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions

What type of sensor does the Hitech G1010 use?

The G1010 uses a specialized, self-powered galvanic electrochemical micro-fuel cell. As oxygen diffuses into the cell, it generates an electrical current proportional to the partial pressure of oxygen, requiring no external polarizing voltage.

Can the G1010 be mounted directly inside an engine room or cargo pump room?

The standard G1010 display control unit is rated for panel mounting in control rooms or ventilated machinery cabinets. For hazardous areas (such as Zone 1 or Zone 0 tanker cargo areas), the display must be housed in a safe control station, or an explosion-proof EExd enclosure, with the remote sensor wired through certified Zener galvanic barriers.

How do I troubleshoot an erratic or unstable oxygen reading?

The most frequent cause is fluctuating sample gas pressure, pulsating sample pump strokes, or liquid carryover. Verify sample flow is steady between 100 and 300 ml/min. Inspect coalescing filters for moisture. If the reading drops steadily towards zero regardless of gas composition, the galvanic cell has reached the end of its chemical life and must be replaced.

How are the two alarm relays configured?

The dual volt-free changeover contacts can be configured independently via the front tactile buttons for High alarm, Low alarm, or Off. Alarm hysteresis is programmable from 0% to 10% to prevent rapid cycling around the trip point. The relays operate in a failsafe mode (normally energized).
