Tips for Long Life:

1. Engage the Cleaning Adaptor Properly: When pulling the probe out of heavy fuel oil or crude, ensure the mechanical cleaning wiper blade on the barrel housing is fully engaged (turned to ON). Cleaning the tape while rewinding prevents oil sludge accumulation inside the storage drum, which can over-weight the reel and cause internal electrical contact drag.
