Description

The EUROTHERM 3216/CC/VH/LRXX/R is a small, 1/16 DIN single-loop programmable temperature and process controller that may be used in both labs and factories. It is very accurate and reliable. It has a universal input, flexible outputs, and an 8-segment programmer, so it works with ovens, furnaces, heaters, and general process control panels.

The Eurotherm 3216 is a panel-mounted controller that measures 48 × 48 mm. It has a bright dual display and scrolling text messages that are easy to understand for simple setup and use. It works with all kinds of sensors (thermocouples, RTDs, mV, and mA) and has extensive PID control features like heater failure detection, an internal timer, and a built-in setpoint programmer.

The 3216/CC/VH/LRXX/R hardware variant usually has a wide-range AC supply (85–264 Vac) and one logic and relay output. It is designed to be easily integrated into control panels and machine OEM applications. The front seal with a high IP65 rating makes it possible to use in tough industrial settings where dust and splash protection are needed.

Key Features:

-> The small 1/16 DIN (48 × 48 mm) panel-mount design makes it easy to add to control panels and OEM equipment.

-> Universal input that works with thermocouples, RTDs, mV and mA process signals, which cuts down on the number of different types of controllers that are needed.

-> PID control with high accuracy and a fast loop update (usually 250 ms) for reliable and quick temperature management.

-> An 8-segment setpoint programmer that works with ramp/soak profiles in heat treatment, ovens, furnaces, and batch processes.

-> You can set up multiple outputs (logic and relay) to work with heating, cooling, alerts, or events.

-> Optional Modbus RS-485 connections for linking to PLC, SCADA, and data logging systems.

-> The bright dual digital display has clear status indications and scrolling text prompts to make setup and use easier.

-> The front panel has an IP65 seal (with a gasket) to keep dust and water from getting in in industrial settings.

-> Heater failure detection and the ability to monitor the current (with CT) to find partial or whole load failures early.

-> A multi-language interface (such English, German, French, Italian, and Spanish) that can be used in installations around the world.

Usage in Industry:

1) Industrial ovens and furnaces are used to control temperature very precisely, create ramp/soak heat-treatment profiles, cure, relieve stress, and anneal metals, ceramics, and glass.

2) Controls the temperatures of the barrel, die, and mould on injection moulding, extrusion, and rubber curing machines to keep the quality of the products and the cycles consistent.

3) Packaging and sealing machinery: Keeps the jaw, bar, or platen temperatures on heat-sealers, form-fill-seal, and shrink-wrap machines correct so that seals are always the same and less scrap is made.

4) Food and drink processing: Controls the temperature in tiny ovens, dryers, proofers, and cooking or pasteurisation equipment that need to have clean, repeatable thermal cycles.

5) Lab ovens and furnaces: These are used for testing materials, calibrating furnaces, and heating labs in general. They provide steady control and programmable temperature ramps.

6) Pharmaceutical and biotech equipment: Used in small reactors, incubators, and stability chambers that need to keep a close eye on temperature and keep records of their profiles.

7) HVAC and environmental chambers: These chambers control heaters and sometimes coolers to keep the temperature at the levels needed for testing.

8) Drying and curing lines: Used on paint, powder-coating, and drying tunnels to keep the temperature in each zone the same for better curing and less energy use.

9) General process control panels: Built into OEM control panels for small process skids, heaters, tanks, and boilers when a small 1/16 DIN controller is needed.
