Our Engineer’s Tips:

-> It’s important to manage heat: The ATV312 can handle temperatures up to 50°C, but make sure there is always clear vertical ventilation. You might want to utilize an IP54 enclosure with a heat exchanger to keep the PCB from sweating if you work in an area with a lot of humidity, like the engine room of a ship.

-> Cable Shielding: Always use shielded motor cables, and make sure that the shield is grounded at both ends of the drive and the motor with high-quality EMC clamps. This will assist the wires in passing tests that check for a lot of interference.

-> Firmware and Settings: Before you start the motor, always check the nameplate. Putting the correct I_n (nominal current) and Cos \phi (power factor) into the drive is what makes the difference between a protected motor and a burnt-out winding.
