The BPI 16DNL1 is a high performance, single screw progressive cavity pump for applications where precise flow control and consistent transfer rates are required. It has a helical rotor rotating within a double helical stator , so discrete , sealed compartments are created which move fluid steadily from inlet to output.

Our Engineer Expert’s Guide:

1. Do not run a progressive cavity pump dry. Dry Running Prevention Rotor and stator require liquid lubrication . Running without fluid will quickly overheat and damage the elastomer stator.
2. Startup Procedure: Check the direction of rotation before starting up. If the fluid is very viscous, ensure the suction valve is fully open and the pump is primed.
3. Wear Monitoring. Measure the motor load with an ammeter. A fast rise is usually an indication of a blockage and a steep decline may be an indication of loss of primary or internal bypass from worn stators.
4. Maintenance: Regular checks of the mechanical seals are necessary. If you observe any fluid weeping from the shaft region it is imperative that you replace the seal quickly to avoid contamination of the bearing.
5. Variable Frequency Drives (VFD): I would definitely recommend a VFD for motor speed control. This allows you to adapt the flow rate to your specific process needs and to minimise the risk of over-mechanical stress and thus to prolong the service life of the rotor and stator.
