When you change the AM-12A motor, always check the mechanical shaft seal, according to experts. The number one cause of death for these motors is a leaking seal, which lets moisture into the front bearing and makes it fail too soon.
Before you wire anything, make sure your jumpers are set up correctly for the voltage in your area (115V or 230V). I suggest putting a thin layer of dielectric grease on the terminal connections in marine environments to keep them from rusting in salt air. Always check the direction of rotation when you first start the pump to make sure the impeller is moving fluid in the right way.
