The Yokogawa SCP461-51 S2 is an industrial grade processor module for demanding Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) such as the popular CENTUM VP and ProSafe-RS series. The SCP461-51 Style S2 delivers the robust computing architecture, structural stability and system-wide integration required to eliminate unexpected process variations and ensure peak operational availability, whether upgrading older system versions (such as the SCP461 S1) or setting up a new hardware node.
Compared to older Style S1 versions, this Style S2 unit has better electromagnetic interference (EMI) resistance and improved thermal management. It is built into Vnet/IP high-speed control networks, creating a separate, secure, and backup communications bus that protects plant telemetry from dropouts or data collisions.
