Engineer’s Advice on Separator Overhauls: 

When installing the oil separator element (e.g., NT4554 or 700210) from this kit, never remove the staple or metal grounding wire embedded in the gasket. This grounding path is critical; static electricity builds up inside the separator due to rapid oil-air friction. Without a solid ground to the receiver body, static discharges can generate internal sparks, causing catastrophic separator fires. Always run a continuity test between the separator head and the receiver vessel after reassembly.
