Description

Honeywell CC-TAIX01 Analog Input Module (51308363-175)

With 16 analog inputs, the Honeywell CC-TAIX01 (Part Number: 51308363-175) is a big module. It was built to fit the way the Experion PKS Series C is built. This module translates 4–20mA or 1–5V DC pulses from field transmitters into digital data. This module sends digital data to the C300 controller in the maritime control system. It is utilized to keep an eye on crucial items, including the main engine’s exhaust temperature, the fuel oil’s viscosity, and the air pressure that is being cleaned. This module transmits data to power management systems and connects directly to Honeywell Safety Manager (SM) systems for Emergency Shutdown (ESD) loops. The Schneider Acti9 iEM3000 series meters keep track of how much energy is utilized overall.

Advanced galvanic isolation and signal filtering make sure that everything functions properly. The CC-TAIX01 is made to reduce the effects of engine harmonics and common-mode noise that are common in shipboard power systems that run at 440V/60Hz. The electronics inside feature a unique coating that keeps “dendrites,” which are conductive, from developing between pin headers that are very close together. This stops the area around the engine from getting too moist. This makes sure that the data is always correct, no matter what the weather is like on the ship or how hot or cold it is in unmanned mechanical spaces (UMS).

Pro-Engineer Tip:

Marine ETOs often run into a “hidden” failure mode with the Series C hardware: fretting corrosion on the gold-plated pins that connect the module to the IOTA. In places with a lot of vibration, like a steering gear room or near a turbocharger, tiny motions wear away the plating, leaving behind a thin coating of oxide that doesn’t transmit electricity. This shows up as “noisy” analog signals or spikes that happen at random in the HMI. If you detect signal changes that don’t match what is really going on with the machine, don’t just replace the transmitter. Instead, reseat the CC-TAIX01 and use a high-quality, non-conductive contact cleaning to stabilize the impedance.
