The GE SFHA36AT0250 is a New In Box (NIB) premium-grade Molded Case Circuit Breaker (MCCB) from General Electric’s highly-reliable Spectra RMS™ Series. This 250-Amp, 3-phase, 600VAC breaker is designed for premium electrical protection in harsh commercial, industrial, and marine settings and features the latest in electronic solid-state sensing.

Its sophisticated microprocessors determine the real RMS value of the current waveform instead of the conventional thermal-magnetic substitutes. This helps to reduce nuisance tripping caused by high harmonic content generated by modern electrical equipment such as SCR drives, variable frequency drives (VFDs), computer power systems and specialty machinery. This present limiting device is installed in a compact SF250 frame and is fitted with accurate, adjustable Long-Time, Short-Time and Instantaneous (LSI) trip functions, all necessary for system coordination and protection of downstream equipment.

  2. Torque Specs Matter: Marine vibration will back out poorly tightened lugs. When installing the TCAL29 or equivalent lug kits, use a calibrated torque wrench to tighten conductors within the specified range for 8 AWG to 350 kcmil wires. Never guess the tightness on a high-amperage electronic breaker.
  3. Selective Coordination: Utilize the adjustable tracking short-time settings to coordinate with upstream breakers. This guarantees that if a fault occurs down the line, only this branch trips, leaving your primary main distribution bus completely energized.
