When integrating the PRM 1000D3 into a new or repowered vessel, alignment is paramount. Because this is a drop centre unit, it naturally shifts the output flange downward. Ensure your engine mounts are calibrated to account for this vertical offset without exceeding a 3° to 5° static installation angle.
Additionally, hydraulic gearboxes rely explicitly on thermal management. A dedicated marine oil cooler must be inline with the gearbox’s hydraulic circuit. Always plumb the oil line so that hot oil flows out of the top of the gearbox, through the sea-water cooled heat exchanger, and returns directly to the low-pressure sump side.
