Description

Hyundai HVF2042 Vacuum Circuit Breaker (1250 A)

The Hyundai HVF2042 is the best medium-voltage switchgear ever made, and it was made to protect electrical networks without compromise. The 1250 A Vacuum Circuit Breaker (VCB) uses Hyundai Electric’s cutting-edge vacuum interrupter technology to quickly and safely put out arcs, protecting your downstream assets for a long time.

The HVF series is designed to be reliable in tough industrial settings. It has a small footprint, high mechanical endurance, and needs little maintenance. The HVF2042 is a strong shield against overloads and short circuits, whether you are in charge of a utility substation or a heavy industrial plant.

Applications

  1. Utility Power Distribution: The main way to protect medium-voltage substations.
  2. Manufacturing Plants: Great for keeping steel, cement, or chemical plants’ big motor feeders and transformers safe.
  3. Switchgear protection for wind farm collection points and solar PV substations is a type of renewable energy.
  4. Marine and Offshore: Used in systems that manage the power of ships (make sure your hull has the right marine class certification).
  5. Commercial Infrastructure: Hospitals and data centers can count on reliable power backup and distribution.

Marine Engineer’s Best Tips

  1. Keep an eye on the wear on the contacts. Even though VCBs don’t need much maintenance, always use the built-in wear indicator on the vacuum interrupter. If the stroke goes over the limit set by the manufacturer, the VI must be replaced to stop it from starting up again during a fault.
  2. Lubrication is Important: The mechanical connection can get stiff in humid or salty places. Only use synthetic grease that the manufacturer says to use. Don’t put too much grease on it, because that will attract dust and make the mechanism “gum up.”
  3. Testing Insulation Resistance (IR): Do a Megger test before starting up or after a long shutdown. Check that the poles are clean. Carbon tracking on the outside of the VI can cause flashovers even if the vacuum inside is perfect.
