Engineer’s Insight:
On a vessel or a tightly enclosed industrial plant floor, ambient temperature is your enemy. The NSX630N is calibrated for a baseline of 40°C. If your engine room or switchboard room regularly sustains temperatures near 50°C, you must calculate thermal de-rating curves. Fortunately, because this unit uses the MicroLogic electronic trip unit instead of standard thermal-magnetic strips, it behaves much more predictably under high ambient heat, drastically reducing annoying nuisance trips caused by environmental temperatures rather than actual overcurrent.
