The Honeywell FC-RUSIO-3224 is a 32-channel Remote Universal Safe I/O module that is redundant and may be used with the Honeywell Safety Manager and Safety Manager SC designs. The module is a key part of SIL 3 (Safety Integrity Level 3) loops. It connects field sensors and actuators to the central safety controller using the SafeNet high-speed redundant Ethernet infrastructure. Each of the 32 channels may be set up in software, so you can process digital input (DI), digital output (DO), analog input (AI), or analog output (AO) data without having to alter the hardware terminals.

The FC-RUSIO-3224 is made to maintain the signal clean even when there is a lot of total harmonic distortion (THD) and voltage spikes, which happen a lot in 60Hz isolated shipboard grids. The galvanic isolation and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) ratings keep the low-voltage logic apart from the inductive spikes and 440V distribution noise in the engine room. • The module can handle up to 32 digital inputs and outputs, 32 analog inputs and outputs, and a total of around 9 A on the outputs. ​
• You can set up Channel 32 as an Emergency Shutdown (ESD) function channel for safety-related trips in important situations. ​

Safety, Communication, and Diagnostics

• Even when just one channel is used, the FC-RUSIO-3224 meets SIL 3 standards. It can accomplish this because it contains a backup CPU, built-in watchdogs, and a method to keep track of the temperature.
