The Enraf Tanksystem HERMetic Sampler GT4 is a high-end, portable 4-inch big volume sampler for strictly closed, gas-tight liquid sampling at marine tank vessels, offshore rigs and shore terminals. The GT4 is intended for activities where the normal 0.5 litre samples are not representative. It has a large 1.8 litre bottle capacity to capture sufficient and highly representative cargo volume in one run.
It directly anchors onto a standard 4-inch HERMetic vapour control valve (deck valve) and its fully sealed construction means no volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions escape to the atmosphere. This zero-vapor-release architecture protects personnel on board ships from deadly poisonous vapours, prevents inadvertent cargo contamination and meets the most demanding environmental standards.

On product tankers alternating between heavy crude oil and corrosive chemical parcels, residual cargo can cook inside the winder frame, causing the graduated tape to bind or degrade the internal FFKM gaskets.
Pro Tip: Always flush the inner sampler chamber with an appropriate cleaning solvent immediately after sampling highly viscous or corrosive cargoes. Before securing the unit in its storage chest, check the structural integrity of the three mechanical swing nuts on the base flange. If these nuts are unevenly torqued onto the 4-inch deck valve, the seal will warp, causing a subtle pressure drop and localized vapor leakage during high-overpressure conditions up to 0.3 bar.
